Research

Michael's work is currently focused on the development of solid state electrolyte materials for lithium ion batteries. Their challenging synthesis and processing has meant that very few laboratories have mastered the basics of working with these compounds. Recent breakthroughs in Michael's work have led to the formation of fully crystalline thin films of the solid electrolyte material. The in depth analysis of this process, and optimisation of electrical properties are a continued area of research.
